New Season Kickoff

Well friends, here we are again about to kick off another season. The MCC board has put together an exciting schedule. There are a few lakes not visited recently, as well as, a new lake MCC has never fished before, Arkabutla. Arkabutla Lake is known around the country as one of Mississippi's premier crappie lakes! There are stories of four pound crappie swimming in its waters. The board decided to add Arkabutla for several reasons. One being the possibility of new members, but the deciding factor was due to the hard work of two of our new members from that area, John Harrison and Kent Driscoll. These two guys have already raised a great deal of sponsorship monies from the area. That's what make MCC the best crappie club around---people that are willing to step up to the plate. Thanks guys!!! I for one can't wait until the spring time rolls around so I can catch me one of those four pound sac-a-laits!

There are several other changes that I would like to mention. In the past the club has had a gun raffle to raise money for the classic. Well, this year we have added a little twist to the raffle. To qualify for post season pay-outs each team member must sell one book of tickets. We hope to raise over $10,000 to go into the classic pot, but I'll let Paul fill you in on all the raffle news and details. We have also made great improvements to the club's website. Thanks to another club member, Bernard Williams, the website looks better then ever. So if you get a chance, check out www.magnoliacrappieclub.com and let Bernard know what a great job he has done. Just another fine example of what kind of people make up MCC.

It looks like we have another fine season ahead of us. The momentum from last year seems to be spilling over into the upcoming season. I'm excited to get it started. I'll see you at Ferguson!
